ALPINISM MONTE ROSA
Information on the Spaghetti Tour Traverse

If you are looking for an exciting and adventurous alpine experience, we recommend the "Spaghetti Tour", the great crossing of Monte Rosa. This tour will take you to traverse glaciers and ridges of moderate difficulty, but which require good physical preparation due to the altitude. It is a circular route that starts from Cervinia and returns passing through Zermatt, offering an unparalleled week of adventure!

Tour Program

1° Giorno

The first day starts with the ascent to the Plateau Rosa ski lifts at an altitude of 3480 meters, followed by the climb to the Western Breithorn at an altitude of 4165 meters. Depending on the conditions, we will proceed along the ridge towards the Central Breithorn at an altitude of 4160 meters and then towards the Eastern Breithorn at an altitude of 4141 meters. Subsequently, we will descend along the Verra glacier to the Guide Alpine Hut of the Val d'Ayas at an altitude of 3420 meters, where we will stop for dinner and overnight stay.

2° Giorno

The second day involves the ascent to the summit of Mount Castor at an altitude of 4223 meters, a panoramic climb that is not too strenuous. Continuing along the ridge, we will reach the Felik Peak at an altitude of 4088 meters, from where we will start the descent to the Quintino Sella Hut at an altitude of 3585 meters. Here we will spend the night, enjoying a delicious dinner.

3° Giorno

The third day will take us through the glaciers of the Felik and the Western Lys, under the imposing south walls of the Western and Eastern Lyskamm, until we reach the Nose of the Lyskamm at an altitude of 4227 meters. Subsequently, we will descend to an altitude of 3850 meters along the Eastern Lys glacier and ascend to the Vincent Pyramid at an altitude of 4215 meters. Before reaching the Gnifetti Hut at an altitude of 3647 meters, we will face another ascent to an altitude of 4000 meters. Here we will stop for dinner and overnight stay.

4° Giorno

The fourth day will be dedicated to the ascent to the Margherita Hut, the highest hut in Europe, located on the Gnifetti Peak at an altitude of 4554 meters. During this ascent, we will cross the Christ of the Peaks at an altitude of 4167 meters, the Black Horn at an altitude of 4322 meters, the Ludwigshöhe at an altitude of 4342 meters, and the Parrot Peak at an altitude of 4436 meters. Here we will stop for dinner and overnight stay at the Margherita Hut.

5° Giorno

The fifth and final day will be a unique experience, as we will have the opportunity to admire the dawn from the summit of Monte Rosa. We will ascend to the Zumstein Peak at an altitude of 4564 meters and then face a long descent along the Grenzgletscher glacier, heading towards Zermatt. After crossing the Monterosa Hut at an altitude of 2795 meters, we will continue towards the Piccolo Cervino ski lifts at an altitude of 3889 meters, reaching on foot Plateau Rosà and then Breuil Cervinia. Depending on the arrival time at Plateau Rosà (last lift at 15:30), it may be necessary to add an overnight stay at the Guide Alpine Hut of the Cervino. FAQ

Faq Mountaneering

  • First Steps in Mountaineering

The high-altitude mountains can also be climbed by trained hikers with a good habit of walking and capable of covering elevation gains of at least 1000-1200 meters on mountain trails. Each person will have to deal with acclimatization and altitude sickness; the guide will teach you how to walk with crampons and an ice axe when crossing glacial terrain, as well as the rules of roped climbing.

  • Quali sono le Gite Collettive?

On the Calendar page, you will find all the dates of the Collective Mountaineering Trips, which normally take place on routes ranging from Easy to Medium Difficulty on the main mountains of the Alps. For a more efficient organization, I ask you to book in advance by putting yourself on the list for the days of interest; we will form the groups more quickly, and the outing can be confirmed once the minimum number of participants is reached (usually 4-5). If the minimum is not reached, the outing can still take place by renegotiating the participation fee.

  • Private climbs with the guide

"Private outings" are outings requested by clients on any date, where the guide will accompany you on single-day or multi-day mountaineering excursions.

  • What to bring in the backpack

We start with a good pair of waterproof boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, and a good helmet.

    :
    In the backpack - sunglasses
    - mask - thermos or water bottle
    - running food, energy bars, chocolate
    - hange of clothes for the hut and a sleeping bag liner for the night
    - gloves, light and heavy
    - beanie
    - 35-liter backpack

  • Come mi devo vestire?

Il nostro abbigliamento è a "strati", che ci consente di modulare il nostro calore in funzione della temperatura esterna e non sudare eccessivamente. Di seguito un breve elenco:

    - Intimo merinos
    - pile light
    - piumino leggero
    - goretex jacket
    - medium-weight trousers
    - spare socks

  • Meeting Point?

The meeting place and times will be communicated prior to the outing. A general location is always indicated in the itinerary.
