The Heart of Our Journeys
"The Dolomites hold some of the purest freshwater in Europe."

The Avisio flows down from Val di Fiemme, carrying with it the memory of spruce forests and rocky canyons. Just a few miles away, the Travignolo winds through the Paneveggio Forest — the legendary "Violin Forest" — in a silence that only water knows how to fill.

Further east, the Cordevole opens the gates to the Belluno Dolomites: at the foot of the Marmolada, in landscapes recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. With us, you will discover not only where to fish, but how to read the water — the most valuable skill a fly angler can acquire.

Avisio River

The most versatile of the Dolomite rivers. It runs from Val di Fiemme to its confluence with the Adige through rocky canyons and open meadows, offering sections suitable for every fishing level — from deep pools for nymphing to fast currents for dry fly fishing.

Travignolo Stream

Flowing through the legendary Paneveggio Forest, the "Violin Forest." Small, crystal-clear, and technical — a paradise for summer dry fly fishing. The marble trout, endemic to the Adriatic basin, is the absolute star of this stream.

Avisio River

Val di Fiemme · Trentino · 57 miles

Originating in Val di Fiemme, the Avisio travels 57 miles through landscapes that change with every bend — from the narrow gorge of Stramentizzo to the wide meadows of Lavis, where the waters slow down and the pools become deeper. It is the most versatile river we offer.

The upper sections, rich in fast currents over gravel beds, are ideal for dry fly fishing from May to September. Further downstream, where the river widens, nymphing and Czech nymphing dominate the morning sessions. The presence of grayling in the middle stretches makes the Avisio one of the few rivers in Trentino where you can target both species on the same day.

Travignolo Stream

Paneveggio Forest · Trentino · 24 miles

The Travignolo is a small, elusive, and extraordinarily technical stream. It flows among the spruce trees of the Paneveggio Forest — the "Violin Forest," so named because for centuries it has provided the resonant wood for Stradivari's violins — in a landscape of silence and filtered light.

This is home to the wild brown trout (Salmo trutta fario), the native queen of this waterway. An extremely cautious and protected species, it is fished exclusively on a **catch-and-release** basis using barbless hooks. Summer dry fly fishing is the technique of choice: June and July evenings bring spectacular mayfly hatches that make the trout highly selective and therefore beautifully challenging.

Cordevole River

Belluno Dolomites · Veneto · 46 miles

The Cordevole originates from the Marmolada — the largest glacier in the Dolomites — and flows down toward Belluno through one of the most spectacular valleys in the Alps. Its course flows through the heart of the Dolomites, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009.

Thanks to the elevation changes and the width of the river, the Cordevole offers diverse microhabitats: shaded pools ideal for nymphing, fast runs over gravel beds for **dry fly**, and wide clearings where brown trout feed on the surface during the evening hours. Rainbow trout are also present in some downstream sections, where the current becomes gentler.

When to Come

The Four Seasons
of Alpine Fishing

April – May

Spring

The season of massive hatches. Mayflies and stoneflies abound, trout become active again, and grayling move upstream to spawn. Higher water levels, but perfectly fishable with nymphs.

June – August

Summer

The ultimate dry fly season. Summer evenings offer spectacular hatches. As water levels drop and clear up, it provides fantastic sight fishing during the cool hours of early morning and dusk.

September – October

Autumn

The most beautiful season for autumn colors and trout in their spawning colors. Females begin staging and males display highly intense coloration. Technical and rewarding fishing, with fewer anglers on the water.

Novembre – Marzo

Winter

A selective catch-and-release season. Fewer anglers on the water, with fishing still open in low-altitude lakes for a highly rewarding pike fishing experience using large streamers or spinning with heavy lures.
